Hey everyone, I'm going to try to be more active on various forums, including here, so I'm starting an art blog!

I'm a 2D/3D guy with an interest in character art in particular, aiming to work at a game company in the future. Currently I'm a fourth year student of 3D animation and visualization.

I'll start this blog off with a project I just started, based on a concept by Mizael Tengu, still in the blocking stage, but I wanted to get the face right very early on:

I'm pretty happy with it so far, the hips seem a bit off, I might have exaggerated them too far.
Here's the original illustration this is based on:

I'll keep this thread updated on further progress, and other projects down the line! Any comments slash criticism would be welcome!

Blocking clothes!

Slow but steady progress : D

I think I'm going to start posing her soon, and then finish the sculpt with her in the correct pose.

Started posing. I had to make some adjustments to her anatomy, made the head a bit smaller and the breasts bigger, to match the concept art.

Coming along great man! One small thing stands out for me, I'd check the lenght of the forearm vs the disance between the shoulder and the elbow, seems a bit too short

More progress!

@marc Thanks man! Now that you mention it, the forearms do seem a bit short, I'll stretch them a little bit, or maybe lift the elbows

Awesome job on the character  i agree on the fact that arms are a bit off, one way to look at a arm if your having trouble is try using the "big medium small method", Which would create a rhythm within the arm, heres a quick doodle to show you what i mean if you don't mind

If that does work with you the look at a human anatomy reference, hope this helps

@Fris Thanks! Yeah, it is helpful, I need to remember that technique

Did some quick renderings in keyshot:

I fixed the arms and did some detail work. I think she's pretty much ready for polypaint!

10 days later

Alright, I think I'm done, here's the final keyshot render:

I made some adjustments to the actual sculpt since my last update, but mostly it's just polypaint. Here's some really quick zbrush renders too:

This project can now be found on artstation

On to the next project!
