Hello people,
New here, but this looks like a nice place. My dream is to be able to make a living off of my art someday, though I'm still far from the required level I'm training everyday. For now I'm just a graphic designer.

I'll probably only post finished pieces and maybe some studies from time to time. I still don't really know how to color unless I do it in a "manga style" (layer by layer) which isn't my goal nor what I like, so, only black&white stuff for values for now.

I am looking forward to see your progress here!
As for the coloring. SInce your B/Ws look pretty nice, I would suggest you to try adding some gradients over your B/W. If you take time to play with it, you can achieve some pretty decent color base to start with

Gradient maps? Oh yeah I played around with them a tiny little bit, it's true it might turn out decent if I actually put in the time to set them right. But having to paint again over it to have an actual finished piece sounds quite unproductive; I definitely want to become able to paint in colors rightaway!

Well it's a way to start. Or you can also use soft light, overlay or color layers.. I just think that with the gradients you can come up with much better results and don't have to fix too much as long as you values are correct there Ofcourse just talking about coloring your b/w paintings. (just cause I think it would be a good practice and a pitty to leave them black and white )
