Lee Jarvis - Art School Journey

Hello Everyone

My name is Lee and I started my art journey around 4 years ago in 3d. It started with Blender so I could make simple 3d objects on my then new 3d printer. The bug took hold so I then moved into Zbrush / Substance Painter and Blender

Now a few years on I think learning to concept and draw in 2d will help me make my original 3d sculpts better. I would also love to make beautiful 2d art like everyone on this site. The last time I put pencil to paper was when I was a child so this could be painful So my end goal is for 2d to make my 3d better and vice versa.

Here is the latest 3d print I'm working on. My 2d skills are lacking at the moment so looking to level up using this course.

Thank you very much for your kind words. I feel comfortable in 3d because you can look round your forms. Trying to give the illusion of 3d in 2d I find quite a bit harder but that is why I'm here

I have started the course so here are my first submissions. I will be working in Clip Studio Paint mainly. I have affinity photo which is where I have done the photo manipulation but it doesn't have as many features as photoshop.

The pen control was done in CSP and I cant figure out how to get any of the brushes to work in the same way as the bottom examples. I will keep using this as a warm up so maybe I will work it out

Hi Guys here are a few more excises from Term 1. I will use these excises as warm ups as I progress. I think this week I will practice gesture drawing and poses from imagination. Any comments welcome.
