Just got done with the videos for term one last night and am currently working on assignments today. I’m not sure if I should post daily or weekly.
Any advice going forward for the course?

Welcome Lee! It's good you're thinking about a schedule, but for posting your work, there's not really any need to stick to a specific posting schedule, especially since some assignments will take longer than others. You'll probably work something out as you go.

I mean it’s nice to have a schedule but I guess it really depends on how much time you have. But also as matthewwemes said some take long than others to complete. Most important thing it’s to enjoy the process, otherwise it can drag out the fun.

Seconding what others have said, do whatever feels good for you
Also, don’t one-off the assignments, especially the basic ones - they are very useful and repetition will lead to great gains

Here is my term 1, first week work I’ve been doing this is just on procreate.
I’ve had a challenge trying to find my way around procreate, brushes ext…
These aren’t in order but I’ll give a brief explanation.

The figure study I’ve had to increase the time maybe I should just focus more on simplifying it more.

The pen pressure I’ve found that slowing down helps and I can’t seem to find brushes that fit the shapes at the bottom so I look for ones that I can use for pressure control.

The 1 2 point perspective I feel like I need more work with other shapes.

I’m having a hell of a time with the loome method…
Over all I’ll need more practice with procreate and just keep at it with my study’s

Dante and Virgil by Bouguereau is a fave of mine before he unfortunately submitted to those days’ version if instagram algorithms and avoided the more badass paintings for the rest of his career

As for procreate, I find it is a super powerful tool, I am ising it a lot as I travel and work a lot so I can just find some time and hit it, a lot of my recent pieces are done on it because of those circumstances. I find that using one or two brushes almost exclusively helps as you really learn the intricacies of a single brush, but it takes some experimenting to choose em. From the vanilla brushes I really like the simple

flat brush and the 6B pencil

Also, it has perspective grids where you can freely add your vanishing points to help you out

Yo, really cool studies so far
I notice your head constructions, when done on their own, tend to be a bit too tall, the chin is a bit too far down I think. That said, your head studies are looking great!

Hey snakker how’s it goin? Yeah I’ve been having some weird issues with the head construction. When I construct it like shown in the classes, I’ll start off in a photo reference and it doesn’t seem to match up so I find myself having to try some other things which I think might be throwing me off idk…. Like you pointed out though it’s for sure stretched and, I think my circles are too big to or something lol…deff more practice. Thanks for the feedback snakker.
