Thanks guys, always appreciate the kind words! Worked on thumbnails for a few hours today so nothing much to show besides an ink drawing and a value painting from reference.

Really need to copy my values from an asaro head because I've forgotten the planes of the face...

Got 3/10 thumbnails done so I should be able to post some roughs in 2 days time.

Finished my thumbnails and will be starting my rough sketches tomorrow! Made progress in my painting today though so here's another face from reference.

Back to my normal work schedule. Only had around 1.5 hours to work on my painting + portfolio work.

Setup my perspective grid and started on my first rough today. Realise now I'm being too neat and slow with it, so I will try and pick up the pace.

Damn, for a rough sketch looks sweet. Love the lil top down view.

Hey Luk, I really like the building design & sketches you have so far! Do you perhaps use references for each of them? if so, where did you usually get your references and how much of it are you trying to put into your sketches? I genuinely want to get into drawing establishments for background and worldbuilding but can't seem to grasp where to start. Would love to get a respond from you, keep up the good work!

Hey Apath,

Yep, use references for everything! Usually I collect maybe 5-10 images and then take elements from each that I like and then turn them into something completely new.

When I use reference I'm not trying to copy the pieces in, just trying to take something. It could be using the proportions, or the shapes. For these sketches I'll use my fantasy interior pinterest board and look out what furniture they have. Or how they have designed the walls or columns. Then I'll see if I can take some of that design and reconfigure it into my own

Linework looking really clean, good job.
Maybe you could add some torches and/or some creature's cranium on the wall as if its a trophy.
Keep up the great work!
