Hello, I would like to ask if there is a time-frame for up to when you can edit a post? Because I want to edit my main post for changing links etc. but it seems the edit has been taken away.

And if by any chance if that's how it's, then I feel it really restricts the user for "editing" their blog/journal, especially if you have links etc. to other places such as social links.

Hello @brianhermelijn, I'm cubebrush dev team member.
Yes, we have a 24 hours limit to edit post or 30 edits per day for each user.

Well the problem of that is that it restricts the users from editing their main posts if they need to change it in the foreseeable future, such as adding new links or changing the description by adding more things.

I do not see why there is such a restrictions on users, while all the other art forums I have been on, you still get the ability to edit your main post @sbezhenyan

So is this gonna stay as is? If so, will have to start some sort of discussion about this, because it is not correct, and thus far the only forum I have seen that limits users with such impressive design (which I like a lot)

Brian, I've replied to you in your other topic. We do try to check every post on the forums every day so it will take some hours for us to notice your posts. Especially considering the time zones.

Hey Brian, the limit is actually 60 days to edit - after which you can always ask a mod or create a new post which is the best solution. For topics that remain relevant over time we can always make them into wikis which allows everybody to participate/edit.

What kinds of edits are you unable to do?

We will be reworking the profiles and this is where you'll want to put your personal links if you have any.

The forums are meant to be a constant conversation in the present. The first post has very little importance unlike other forums, since you are automatically transported to the latest post when you visit a topic. If you have some updates to make, you should simply have to make a new post - this is what users will see first.

13 days later

Fair enough. Perhaps I am overthinking the context of the forum for it to be more of a "Tumblr blog" or "Traditional blog" with the abilities to edit at any time possible than not been able to do so.

But I guess if it's more for present conversation it makes sense why there is a removal of edits after certain periods of time.

Well then, will just have to send a message to remove the current links within my first post then.

@marc or @kigerneko
Seeing that the journals are meant more for present conversation, would like to change my main post

"In here I shall take you on my Art Journey. Thanks for jumping in."

Thanks!

I don't think the main post has changed unless it takes some time for it to change

I edited the main post from the topic you shared with your link and copy-pasted the text you wanted there. The two texts look similar.

With main post I am referring to the first post of the thread, possibly I didn't specify my bad.

"Hey everyone. Welcome to this blog. My name is Brian. In here I shall take you on my Art Journey. Thanks for jumping in.

You can find me on
Twitter
Artstation7
Tumblr5
Youtube3
Creativemarket1

Stopped posting on 11/11/2016. Focusing posting on my tumblr/youtube."

Which is the first post, and needs to be turned to

"In here I shall take you on my Art Journey. Thanks for jumping in."

Thanks!

That is exactly what I've changed it into :wink:

@kigerneko

Well that's weird because the change is not showing on the thread at all, even in private browsing (not logged in) its the same old message.

@brianhermelijn I think there was a misunderstanding, let me make this clear: you want us to delete all the text and links in the main post and replace it with the two sentences ("In here I shall take you on my Art Journey. Thanks for jumping in.")?

Yeah I think there was. Yes that's exactly what I want to change it to. Thanks! :smile:

All right, there you go!
