Gestures look awsome you can really feel the energy, 2 point perspective asinglemt looks solid. Perpective in general I find thos asingments are allso the most fun for me. Overl all amazing progres cant wait to see more

Another day, another pen on the tablet ... or the same pen on the tablet ... what I mean is MORE DRAWINGS!
Starting with those daily gestures - which I think I'll only post in batches when there's been significant progress.
So today it is the first head practice of term 2. LET'S GET IT!!!
Orange bits are when something didn't look right so I adjusted to see how far away from the 2/3 measurement I was.
The take away from this first session was how hard it is to draw a good circle. Very hard - and if that circle is off then the face becomes distorted before it's even begun. It throws out the measurement of the oval and if i follow through to imagine the features on the head i can already see they would be grotesque.
Good thing is that means i'm observing. Onward and upward.

LET'S GET IT!!! Head practice hell yea! Good conclusion about roundnes of a circle distorting the face later down the line, might sound obvious but took me fair while to realise it my self. Most of the circles here look good one confident stroke mostly, Great work.
Step one today was to re-practice that initial head shape. @Lockenheim pointed out something vital and valuable to me on discord about my last ones.
Some of my center lines were not parallel to the center line and then it hit me how I was missing that. I had overlooked that the oval on the side of the head was of course a circle in perspective. Once that clicked (and with Lock's handy dandy reference in my document) it was a lot better.
Then I decided to get the jaw in and practice that too.

Watched the ear tutorial today and I'm a little unsure about the best way to practice it.
Finding the box to start with is not computing with my brain pan ... any suggestions?
A little play with the photoshop tools assignments.
After making the swords (which took many pen shapes piled on top of each other) I had a pretty good grasp on the tool, so I hit the other two fast.
Ears ears ears ears ears ...
Notes are written on the document. The prevalent thing on my mind currently is how to engage my brain to absorb the things I am seeing. How conscious a practice does that need to be? I could copy them more precisely by measuring them, but would that make me a good artist?
An on going question I feel.
I think that by thinking about observation that will trigger it to happen as you are practicing. As long as you practice and think about spatial relationships, and other observational skills I think it will continue to improve. Nice work on all of these!

But yeah, that's a tough question and I wonder the same. I've heard that perfect practice makes one's skills better (a better version of "practice makes perfect). But like, what IS perfect practice??
Also, the top right photo looks like Ethan Becker???

I know what you mean, what the heck is 'perfect' practice? The only way I can reason it around in my mind is; to learn masterful techniques and pay attention to the subtleties as you consciously practice.

Greetings lovely fellow students. Been a while since I updated my art journey ... family commitments were intense this summer holiday season and that nervous system became mucho over stimulated. However, progress has been made (of course) and I'm ready for some show and tell.
This is where I was before I needed to leave the sacred Wacom and travel to see family. I must say looking back on it, I am pleased with my progress.
Then while I was away I managed some studies on Procreate.
Finally some stylized studies first with construction lines and then without. (Top Right face is practicing from imagination.)
