Myriad - Art School Journey

[Myriad]

Long time lurker here. I should have started this about a year and a half ago when I first got the art program but whenever I got about to posting I started to hyperventilate and then would remember that I left the cat on or something.

Anyways I am in and around the term 2 mark and I just finished the 3 point perspective 'wall' assignment. I will post that when I get back home but for now here is an assignment from a previous week (or more like month at the rate I am going).

Any suggestions on improvement are welcome.

Here's a face from memory. Turned out better than some of the earlier faces and it didn't take me nearly as long as some of the other faces I did.

I have definitely seen improvements but it is funny to think how confident I was with my drawing ability before. I find I am struggling most with circles and even worse yet - ellipses.

Here is the 3 point perspective wall assignment. I was fairly happy with how this turned out even though towards the end I was getting impatient. I can see that the perspective is a bit off on some of the bricks on the edges. I had copied a portion of the bricks and tried using the warp/skew function which worked out okay for most of it.

I found I started making a story as I went. I was asking questions about how people would get up there and how the stones would be brought up. I had intended to shade it but that very quickly turned the whole piece into a bit of a mess and so I left it as it was.

I get impatient with perspective drawings too near the end. Great work : )

Here is one of the face study drawings from a photo reference. This is the best so far. I have had some difficulty in placing the side circle on the head to give the rest of the guides. I am noticing now that her nose and mouth are shifted to the left in the line art.

That's a super challenging angle, so congrats and taking it on and doing a good job with it!
