Too vague.
What kind of portfolio? This isn’t specific enough.
We can only critique what we see so we can’t critique you in “all areas” so to speak. These are sketches. You would benefit more from showing finished work and getting it critiqued in all areas that way. Kind of a big ask anyway.
You are developing a character and it’s all over the place. You have developed the face, hair and headband. And other than that I don’t know anything about the character except for the fact that she must HATE shirts.
She has multiple weapons, stances and expressions. This looks like a sketchbook page. Which is cool. But for a character sheet, all I can tell is she is chaotic good? And it’s real world tech, and it looks like you have an animation focus?
But asking more specifically will get you more help on what you struggled with. Tell us what you were frustrated with. Asking for everything will more often than not get you nothing. I’ve seen it a hundred times.
To be specific. You have some inconsistencies in your deltoid insertion points on the humerus and how it overlaps the bicep. The biceps and triceps sort of flexing in the wrong times, when its extended or flexed. The upper leg proportions are really long consistently, so that might be stylistic choice, or it might be you needed a second look. You are using a mannequin via a anatomy construction/invention technique, and reference, but not always both. And you are not always making sure all your bone land marks are being checked off. So things like your acromion process, tensor facia latae, sartorious, gluteus medius, could really help you with making the legs more informed. However that only can all stem from the knowledge of the iliac crest and great trochanter locations.
If you get more specific, the critique can be more objective. Instead its subjective, like the above ^. Its just whatever anyone sees. But it may not be what you need to move forward.
That ink work looks sick though.
I suggest this link to people a lot for style-ization techniques and simplifying your characters, in an animation style. These jpegs helpt a lot of people.
You might know all of this, but you need to replicate it. This video will also tell you why you are doing it this way. The history of the pedigree of the style.
