Hey there, I'm Owlott also called Jenny. I've been picking up drawing recently. I've started with Drawabox, and finished lesson 1 and the 250 box challenge. I hope to learn a lot from art school and get better. And I'm awkward so I don't know what to write. And English isn't my first language (French is), but while I understand it fairly well, I do sometime struggle with it. Pleased to meet you? and I hope we'll enjoy our art journey together !

I found an extended sheet for pen control, so this is today's practice and yesterday's. I drew a picture of Penny from Rwby, The facial is a bit odd, too be honest.

That some good free handing. I think you might get more out of the pen control sheet if you stick to the shorter one and do it once a day instead of doing one super long sheet.

Thank you for your reply! I think I should practice my circles more and my horizontal line too, that's why I chose to do the longer sheet. Also, I have some trouble with the last pen pressure exercice, I don't know if it's me or my tablet, but when I try to make a dot, it doesn't seem to register all the time

I had to mess around with my tablet's settings to get it to work the way I liked. I also ended up changing some Windows 10 settings based on information I found online.

Hi there, this is what I did today, I spent way too much time doing this. The last image still is too blue-ish, but I don't know how to fix it. Also, inverting the colors on the image was a big help!

nice job on the color changing. I don't know if this exercise was hard for you but oh my goodness I took me forever.

Thank you for your reply, it was mostly the last one who took me a lot of time, I had to restart this one a few times. I took maybe 1h30 just on the last one. I found out that if you inverted the picture colors it was easier to see What you were doing and spot mistake. The shortcut for that is CTRL+I on CSP, I don't use PS.

welcome ... ur doing a good job so far ... ur lines are clean and drawn with confidence ... the little face u drew is in the right perspective and could become a good pratice object for lighting and shading later on ... u done almost perfect on the color challenge, nice going ... for the last one of the color adjustments, i think u over did it with the contrast a bit ... keep up the good work

Are these drawn onto reference? They look very good to me, although some of those cylinders could have taken more time (the right most one from the bottom left batch sticks out to me for example).

As far as gesture drawing goes, the top left batch is a little to simplistic in my oppinion. For 30 seconds I'd aim to get closer to the top right ones.

I'd recommend writing a bit more about what it is you practiced (time constraints if there were any, use of reference). Makes it easier to give applicable and usefull criticism.

Just from what I see I'd say you did great.

Yes, I've drawn onto the reference. I didn't use a timer, I mostly did them to understand what was demanded. The top left is capturing the action lines of the posture. The top right is gesture and the bottom left is the exercise from the term 1 video. The bottom right is just all the other three combine, I just put them there 'cause they look nice together.

Very nice work! I had a very hard time with gesture when I first started. Marc advised me to increase the time I spent on them to 2 mins to capture more information which helped a ton! I felt like I wasn't getting much out of 30 secs to 1 min poses so that helped me a lot. Keep it up!

I think you definitely improved the flow of your gesture and I love the use of as few lines as possible (I try to update my forums every day if I can).

I did the human proportion thingy, for the first time, today

I think you did well for your first time the proportions look fairly accurate. But I think the shoulders are a little off I can't quite put my finger on it. other than that it looks pretty good, keep at it!
