Love the colors, ligting and overall pose !

It seems to me the sword should be even more foreshortened, and the right hand should be way bigger than the left one, considering the pose.

Looking good! your values, color selection, texture and overal composition are definetly your strongest points. They are consistently great.

Those are pretty good year goals. I love animation, I hope to do some of it again at some point, the only problem with it, similar to 3D, is that it just takes so much time. Illustration in itself can be fairly time consuming already. Still, bests of luck. I do so love it a lot, and look forward with what you create for it.

I've also been thinking about commercializing some work, the main challenge with it is that, generally, if you want to sell, you have to do what people are willing to buy, which might not necessarily align with what I want to do. It's a big pull and take, and marketing in general is pretty difficult. If you got some good tips or find something works out, let us know, I'd love to hear how it goes.

I always wanted to get into animation. 2 years ago my focus was on background art for animation and comics but once I started learning anatomy it just flipped I used to do only enviro/perspective now it is just hard. I love illustration and paintings which stops me from animation. I also thought about using after effects to animate paintings but I would need subscription first. I have few animations planned after I figure out how to do it but we will see

My heart will always belong to video games where 3d is pretty vital so besides making a lot of things easier it is the reason why I want to learn it. Best would be learn with zbrush but man it cost money a lot of money

With prints its best to do fanart or have unique style. which also applies to following on socials. I've seen people who had great art but no following or anything the moment they started fanart people just came. But selling fanarts is a bit tricky because of legal stuff. Most companies don't mind as long as you don't make fortune on it. You should stay up to date or go for nostalgia. Newest stuff and oldies attract people. Well I want to do my own stuff I don't want fanarts. Most of fanarts I did were from sketches I did for my characters

And there's lots of other people who do the same thing as you do. Why should they buy your stuff when they can buy from the person next to you

Networking is vey important. You need to interact with people. People like to know something about your work what inspired you who it is etc. Also cons are a nice thing but tickets are pricey and you need to live somewhere where it actually happens.

I could write a lot. I know all the mistakes I make trying to get out there but it was already a big step for me to show my art to anyone. Numbers aren't important, your art and you are. And the people who are there for you

Yep, that all sounds about right. Business can be tricky, but it's something we all have to deal with at some point.

I opened print shop. I don't expect anyone yet but it can hang there. I am one step closer, I need to think of doing layout for commision info. I am not sure how I want to take them forms, kofi maybe artistree I don't know yet. Think about prices I don't want to go too high but underpricing is also bad. Should post more often on socials which is just tiring, maybe make reels for ig which is even worse. Gotta be optimistic, need to take care of boring stuff if I want to make something I love

Fowkes course excerscises. Need to say I wasn't expecting painting on 3d model on day 3. Then let's paint over even more complex one. But I am suprised with the results only after an hour. So much done and it doesn't look bad. I sometimes struggle with following along, CSP doesn't have some ps stuff and i am not used to working on so many layers but I love it

Day 1 - master copy; Day 2 - change as much as you want I messed perspective on wall there
Day 3/4 3d model as a base, 3 is from puss in boots 4 from his other project. I searched for them online and it is there so I think it is fine to show the base as well

And Aylin progress, moving on to effects fixing some stuff and detaling. I think I got that foreshortening now. Also resized hands. The eyes will be more glowy later. Flatened the wings on corners and the leg, these parts are not important

Those exercices look really nice! and the Aylin piece is looking great! I think you indeed got the forshortening right, I feel it really makes it a lot better!

Small detail on the face I couldn't help notice, the scar near the mouth makes it look like a bit of an awkward smile... I don't think it's intentional?

Most of it is just following Fowkes, but I did some adjustments later to add my own flare to it

There she is, Dame Aylin in her full glory. I reached the point when I wasn't adding much so I think it is done. I increased contrast on the face and darkened corners to make things pop. Small color adjustments. I am not satisfied with the effects on sword. I need to work on this kind of thing. Added light beams and sprinkles and bunch of other effects. I wasn't sure about the sword blending with background but I think it is fine. I will leave it to 'dry' for 2 days unless you see something off

I have lots of ideas for the next paintings. I only don't know which should go first. Some for design practise (I haven't forgotten about that witch), creature, enviro pretty much everything. Even have a one page 'written' for Moon&Sun story. My writing is awful but it will work as paintings

Oy final piece looks great! As usual the colors, texture and composition are all pretty spot on.

I wasn't familiar with the original character, didn't realize the scars where there as well. The chin and lip scars do seem a bit nuanced in the design as well. Wonder if that's intentional.

I haven't seen it for two days. I think It doesn't need any changes. The sword could be much better but I did foreshortening so no need to be too hard on myself. I stared a bit too long at league splash arts and now I want to do mooooore of that kind of art

I need to say that it is so satisfying to look at your own work and scream EPIC. Ye I see a lot of flaws and things that I could do better; sometimes to the point when I would like to do another version but still I did a lot of work good there. Good self-appreciation is sometimes needed, not too much

Another stuff from Fowkes course. For these sketch layers were provided. I am lost in layers. Every part of background was on its own layer. It can kind of speed process and make some parts easier. But the moment video ended I merged it all and did finishing touches on one

Agreed, it's very epic, and the forshortening work turned out really well. Lol does have amazing works on that respect.
Good on the exercices too. I'm always impresse by the colors of these pieces.

Your Aylin picture looks pretty good. The foreshortening of the sword and the armor rendering looks pretty cool.

This time the topic was emotions. Joy looks kinda funny among the scary ones. This was very fun to do will try doing this on my own. I still need to find all my brushes after cleaning pc...

And started new piece. Well a series. I have 3 planned so far. I wanted to draw some men and the song Soldier, poet, king keeps following me everywhere so why shouldn't I merge it. I wanted to do it in art noveau style but I leaned towards Dragon Age tarot cards and Dominik Mayer style. Not sure about background and bottom part. From design side I try to keep repetition in shapes (round emblems and cloth on pauldrons and the cape folds) Also putting in the moon and sun to keep my story going. He is a good king so I need to make his face a bit softer

I like how the big circle work with arms so I kept it after adding small one. But I cannot decide if I should keep the cape in parallel lines as in first sketch or to make them go outside as in lower one. I like the parallel one better as it works with the big circle nicely.

Interesting exercice. I'll probably take a look at these other courses once I'm finally done with Marc's (probably a year or two down the line...)

That's a nice sketch/idea, it definetly seems familiar, with the knight pose and the composition. Reminds of the medieval stained glasses. And of course it resembles the dragon age cards since it's based on them.
It's coming along well, thouhg if it was me i'd probaby buff up those shoulders and trapes, but that's mainly becuase I make many of my characters very unrealistically buff.
Just style differences. It's coming along really well.
