Hello, Pauline here! Nice to meet you! I'm a 24 y/o artist from Mexico. I graduated from art uni back in 2020 and now I'm trying to do this for a living! I got Art School because I wanna improve my work and have more fun with it!

Your work is really good! The cylinder exercise looks amazing and clean, it looks like you understood the exercises well, and your gestures convey the form and movement well. Can't wait to see more from you ^-^

Time to revive this ancient topic lol- These are some exercises from Term 1.

I think I'm pretty decent at gesture drawing now, though there's always room for improvement...

However, figure drawing is still a strugle ahaha
These were all made by measuring with the pencil on different screens and then placing the images underneath for verification. As you can tell my margin of error is significant and I think the main issue is width vs. height proportions.
Any advice on how to increase my accuracy on that? Some information is lost once I tilt the pencil to be perpendicular if that makes sense (sorry for my english).

Anyway, I'm happy to be back here! :^D

Welcome back! Your gestures look great. Wish I had some advice for you on the proportions but I also struggle with the same thing! Though I would say nothing in your figure drawings really stands out as looking weird to my untrained eyes, so don't be too hard on yourself!

An analysis of different illustrations I like for the Visual Communication 2 class. The focal points were pretty easy to locate but lines and shapes were more challenging to identify. I found that shapes depend on value ranges or object placement- and that some lines don't necessarily point to any dots- they frame them instead.

It was nice to understand why these pictures work so well!

Really love the values of your city landscape! If something though, I noticed that some of the smaller details started to look off perspective or lose their hard edges making them hard to not notice, maybe partially because they were added last or something but yeah. This is just me nitpicking. Amazing work nonetheless!
