avocado struggle. how do u add details without messing up the values? 16/30
Avocado details: maybe you can add a layer on top with a bit darker pattern (brushed in by hand), put it on overlay so that it follows all values ^^

I think for the avocado and for texture in general, it's important to start thinking about it early. Also, like what enalya said, you can experiment with layer styles like overlay, multiply etc.
Sometimes I paint the texture, and then go in with a large soft edge brush on top to get the big shadows.

Damn dude. That is one killer looking apple!
If you have a second light you could use, I would try to give it a rim light on the left side to help pop the apple from the background. Or maybe just put something back there to reflect some of the main light.
Either way it looks great!!

@big-misch I got it from amazon, 3B Scientific Mini. It is very small like apple-sized but i like it and it got all the important details as far as i can see
