thank you so much for the essential advice and video (exactly what I need)

Hey good job, seems you are starting to use more single strokes. 30 sec and 1 min are great for that among other things!

To understand the steep ramp or stairs, assume the following:

  1. Everything is made of boxes
  2. Since all the boxes are parallel to eachoter and you are facing them straight on - we use one point perspective

As for the stairs themselves: try imagining that the stairs are in a box, you would see the box in front of you as a rectangle. Next, if you were to carve the stairs out of the box, it would be like placing many wide, short boxes, one on top of the other, pushing each one a little further back

Cheers!

5.17. daily practice and note

4th : ribcage too long?

and I have tried line drawings with these sketches, all failed (became flat..)

maybe have to focus on contour line drawing practice for now

These look really nice, especially with the shadowing!

By line drawings do you mean inking?

thank you for encouragement

the line art mentioned above is meant to draw with line only as a previous step of coloring
(no shading)

5.20. daily practice and note

poor line quality
(how to fix: overlapping, refined touch, invisible cross contour lines ... )
maybe less gesture and more constructive drawing practice needed

What do you mean by that? Why doesn't your line art looks appealing? Just intrigued.

I realized I repeated that pointless chatter so many times
it was just an expression about no confidence of myself
thank you for good comment

so you saying that you immediately knew you should have done a better job? If that's the case, you can always draw on a new layer to prove that you are correct.
