some more painting exercises, not a perfect copy but my main focus was to train some blending, hope that's not too bad

I have started probably the most ambitious painting I have ever done but what is better to grow than some struggle?

peter I'm sorry I've been away for a while I wanted to say that your portraits are incredible, the guy one in absolutely my favourite, you've chosen a great reference and the ability of the painter is also so good hahaha

I love your last post, there's so much storytelling in it and the mood is so calm and relaxed

Mayybe the black dress is stealing the show a bit, I see it before the actual characters, but aapart from that I love it Keep posting peter!!

I love the storytelling in this piece! And you're applying the studies from Art School!
Would be cool to see the value range you had in your portrait studies applied here. I think if you increase the overall contrast on the front characters, the black dress in the back won't stand out so much anymore.
One more thing about the perspective: I tried to calculate the horizon line on your drawing. Is it around the lady's waist? If so, I think we should be seeing the underside of the back shelf. If it's higher, the items on the table should be at a different angle? I'm not exactly sure... Would love to see how you plotted it.

Thank you so much my ladies! Yes I also see that black dress stand out too much, I will try to fit it in somehow with values because it is very important piece of this very sad story

The point with increasing contrast is noted, actually working on it, and about perspective you can see lines on the window definitely should be able to see some of the shelf's underside, I would like to add more details as well to the background but started to work on characters first because they are more important I usually tend to make semiralistic style and would love to make something more loose and pleasant this time

How about some lighting correction to really push the planes of the pic?

You have strong lighting coming from the window, and your character could be working in the shade (thus darker, soft shadows). The dress is lit in the background, with reduced contrast, which reduces how attention grabbing it is otherwise.

You can add a rim light, but the source is diffuse rather than a pin light so it would have to be subtle.

I think these values help the composition a lil bit. Keep it up!

Thanks @Vonschlippe, I think it could work, but I am always going towards painting dark stuff and I wanted to go for something more lively and colorful this time

I have finally found inner strenght to redesign mech legs, I think they look now more futuristic and fitting but after all these iterations I could have just became tasteless xd

Oof, I liked the more desaturated color for the desk. It fit into the color palette better. Also now it steals the show.

I am concepting the weapon for my water mech, never designed a prop so I will be grateful for any kind of feedback

I immediately thought it's a part of your mech even before reading the description. So you are obviously thinking in the right direction.
I'm having trouble grasping how to use a traditional sword underwater. Would it have it's own propulsion?
