Hey there, hope you guys are doing well. I'm 17, and I started drawing seriously in early December. I hope one day to make a career out of this, specifically doing environments. Ideally, I want to do environments with a post-apocalyptic or a grimy industrial feel blended with sci-fi. I'm excited for the journey ahead, though I have been working through Term 1 since roughly the start of the new year. Best of luck to the rest of you.
Starting off with some of the basic cylinder figures I've done. The ones in blue were traced over a reference, while the ones in black had me looking at the reference on a different screen.

Some figure drawings with the measuring methods...

Proportions practice... this one was done without consulting the video for a reminder on what to do.

And some of the thirty second gesture drawings. I just started them today, and as much as they make me panic even attempting them I'm ready to power through it.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
Nice work so far and welcome to the group! I do the same thing when I draw is to take notes and write down questions I have as I go. This is looking good so far keep it up! I look forward to seeing your progress. Also I'm not sure if you are able to from your device but Cubebrush allows you to upload photos directly to your post. It may make it easier for people to help you if you are able to do upload them directly. Keep it up!
Got some good practice today, I decided to add another hour of practice on so I could work on my linework, started off with some basic exercises from the course and a few that I found online.
Moved on to figure drawing with measurements...
Finished up today with some gesture drawing, certainly better than yesterday but obviously there's still a long way to go.
Nice practice! Love to see it! Keep it up!
Started perspective today, last few days have just been practice so I won't bother sharing that, but I do have a measurement drawing and practice with one point perspective.
Nice work starman! Great work on the perspective, It will help a lot to learn this relationship between distance! I work on that myself also.
Two point perspective done today, I can't really be sure but something looks off about it. If anyone knows what it is, feel free to share.
I took a look at this. I am just a beginner so take this with a grain of salt. Everything checks out to me! I think what you are experiencing is your brain in 3D on a 2d canvas it can be jarring at first! Nice work!
You're probably right, if the lines are right it's probably just my brain. Did another two point today for practice.
In terms of perspective, everything is correct. The reason it looks off, is because your vanishing points are very close together. This imitates a very low focal length (or fisheye effect) which the human eye is not used to.
I figured it was something like that, thanks. Did this one today and then added some more features onto it.
Looking good! I went over this just to check and I got something similar!
One point perspective assignment that I did over the course of a few days, otherwise it's just been work with proportions and gestures. Probably about to move on to Term 2.
Very nice! Great thickness on everything! One thing is sticking out to me is the bottom panel of the sliding door on the left side. The corner isn't parallel with the other corners or the other corner of the bottom panel. This looks freaking awesome! Great work!
Initial practice with heads. The circles on the side of the head is pretty difficult to get used to, and a few of the heads look weird because of it, but obviously it's a process. I do already see a few issues with the chin not being parallel to the side line on the head, so that's something to look out for.
More head practice, starting to get the hang of it. The top left head doesn't look correct at all, so I left in the construction lines in case anyone else wants to see if I did it correctly. The rest look good to me, though.
More heads, for some of them the jaw definitely looks a bit too large.
you need to draw the nose line which can be used to find the average jaw distance. Here's an reference I found that helps me. (still learning though)
More heads from earlier today. I'll definitely try using that as a reference, thanks.
