Unfortunately that's not going to happen for the forums since it's just too expensive. We'd need to start running ads everywhere to pay for hosting and encoding like YouTube does and we'd rather keep the community free of that stuff!

You can always upload your videos as "unlisted" on YouTube or Vimeo and post them here. We allow embedding of video players!

I think right now the work around is uploading a video to youtube and then embedding the video in a post. It's a bit of extra work, but I mean from a web development perspective it's a heck of a lot easier for the folks at Cubebrush to do than having embedded video uploading, hosting, and playback.

Worst case scenario, you're giving someone a link to a youtube video that still works, even if not embedded. I'm on my phone right now, so let's see what I can do...

Yep. Literally copied and pasted a youtube link, and the above is what appeared.

lol just kidding.....no your right it isn't necessary but thanks for your reply and tip!! plus nice job with this site aesthetically pleasing

Oh snap really!! ....I suck at computer stuff lemme try this....I have a youtube channel already so don't have to worry about making one

I noticed other people were posting youtube videos, and since there's no specific button in the post formatting options for video embedding, and stuff like bolding is handled by markup rather than html tags, I figured they were just posting links and it was doing the work for them.

Much like how pasting the link to a gif causes this:

Too spooky.

Kudos to the Cubebrush team though. They did a fantastic job of making uploading imagines, sharing links to other posts, and putting up embedded videos incredibly simple and intuitive.
