Check the first picture. Just observe where the bottom of the building hits the sidewalk. Picture taker is at the top of a slight incline. Notice how the first door on the right dosen't really need a large step up but the second one does.
I see now that makes a lot more sense thanks.
Today I did some gesture and started planning out my one point perspective room which I am planning it to be a futuristic minimalist Kitchen. lmk if anything sticks out that is wrong or looks weird.
Here is my finished Perspective room I got lazy towards the end of it and hated it the more I looked at it so I feel like I should move on to the next assignment. Overall I think it turned out well conceptually and technically when I took my time with it.
Today I did some gesture as a warm-up and then started and finished my two-point perspective street corner assignment which I think turned out good. I feel like this went a lot faster than my one-point room but I guess that's because there is a lot less detailing to do outside compared to inside. If anything looks off lmk and feedback is much appreciated. I will also probably move on to Term 2 starting next week since I feel very comfortable with Perspective.
I have been spending my week working on the vivi fanart challenge and doing studies to try and learn how to render materials in an environment. I did a Mountain study yesterday where I tried to capture atmospheric perspective, and today I did some warmup gesture as well as a water study so that I can apply what I learned to my final piece. I have been a=having fun doing these environment studies and doing them makes my fanart a lot less intimidating than I thought it would be originally. The second image is the applied knowledge of the first study I did this week.
Long time no post I have been practicing on and off as well as working on personal pieces. a couple of weeks ago I worked on and finished my Vivi submission and then the week after I started term 2 and watched the first couple of videos. This week I started on anatomy 1 and have been practicing form in perspective and trying to better understand the form of the different facial features while also trying to find a way to stylize them in a way that I like. I have also been working on this pokemon fanart as well this past week.
I have done some more exploration and practice with facial features tomorrow I plan on doing ears and mouths to help better understand them in a 3D space. I practiced eyes and some more noses and I did more form practice.
Good work @Kosmonaut! I really like your approach to study! Keep them comming!
Thanks, I'm still trying to figure out what is effective and not effective practice
Today I did some more form studies and I attempted to do a figure study since I haven't done them in a while nor have I done them that much in general. I spent way too long on getting the skeleton done and trying to get it accurate but that's how you improve your observation skills I guess. Hopefully, I can finish it tomorrow and still have time to do facial features before my brain shuts down from too much thinking and observing.
I finished the figure study today and practiced some ears and mouths. I also did another form study as well. I plan on making a character out of the figure study I finished today but not sure where to take it idea-wise.
Today I did some more gesture and form, while also being able to do some mouth sketches and I finally started portraits. I have a sketch that I will shade in greyscale tomorrow. I also usually don't share my gesture here anymore since I have uploaded a lot already, but today I did action poses for the first time and good lord I didn't know what I was in for. I ended being proud of what the end result was but I spent half the time trying to process what was happening.
I have spent my week working on and completing a character sheet for a story I want to tell in the future, so I can finally call it done but some things are due to change in the future.
long time no post! I took some time to work on an animation and got halfway through it before deciding that I missed be able to practice as much as I used to. Today I did some more head rune practice and also tried to keep my planes of the head knowledge sharp by practicing it today as well. I am back on the grind of practicing and hope to improve some more. feedback is always welcome le time know if anything looks off. I also did a portrait for self-portrait day yesterday as well that I plan on painting later.
today I did my first attempt at greyscale portrait painting I think it turned out pretty good. there are some mistakes I could fix that I noticed but overall pretty proud of how it turned out.
Well done Kosmo! The animation is going well, i really like it!
Good job!
thanks, I'm currently putting it on hold at the moment I may come back to it later to finish it but not sure
some more head rune and planes practice
Today I did my first attempt at doing gesture from my imagination and I think it went well overall but It still has some issues I could fix the more I do it.
