Hey there! Of course, learning the anatomy of the skull and face is important. I focus a lot on expression when studying faces. I do a bunch of photo studies, copy artist i like, and i also pause videos and movies to draw it when someone does a fun expression
Then you go and experiment while sketching, see what works. Hopefully that helps a bit!

Nice! I really like those mermaids design. They have a lot of interesting little things going on. The tail of the older one is especially cool.

More character design sketches for the comic.

These guys have been through a lot of revisions, partly because of changes in the story.
This and the next drawings i'll show should be very close to the final designs! Not because i think i've reached the ultimate super-perfect versions, but because i gotta set some kind of deadline for this!
