Finally finished my 1st perspective drawing assignment! Goodness it took me more than a week to finish this, for one since I've never invested in drawing something like this to this degree before. I felt really competitive when I started on this and ended up spending more time on this than I should...
oh well...
Gonna call it a day with my study on 2 point perspective! Although I accidentally did 3 point perspective because of some parts like the window hoods... ;-; I'm now moving on to term 2
I definitely overdid it with this one lol, I had a very competitive spirit
The bottom part is less detailed because I have a certain concept planned out for this piece that I hope to complete in the near future.
I would love for some feedback... if anyone sees this🥲
Another set of gesture drawing, and reference drawing assignment for term 1. And I said in the last post I would move on to term 2... ( ﾉ ﾟｰﾟ)ﾉ
I had some difficulty/ confusion with the photoshop part a assignments, probably because I'm using clip studio paint instead. I attempted to do the first 2 assignments so far; here is mine for the second:
I referenced a butterfly, images from Monsters Inc., a cat, and tarantula eyes (side note: tarantula eyes are so adorable, but the rest of their body makes me feel conflicted, goodness it's a weird feeling), which is a bit out there since I wanted to make them mysterious, but cute at the same time

Some more pose drawings and a head sketch
I'm currently still going through Marc Brunet's anatomy lesson for term 2, which is the last lesson of the term I have yet to complete. Learning the anatomy of the ear for one really helped clarify what exactly were the structures I was drawing when I was doing a sketch of the face shown below. Looking forward to learning and practicing other structures of the face soon!

Tried to do a "draw this in your style" challenge. Really pushed myself to my limits and I certainly saw my limits lol. The arms don't quite look as realistic anatomy-wise. Definitely will work on my anatomy to improve in the future!

yes! I did use a reference! Goodness there's no way I could do one without it at this stage lol
You're probably right that the building is french too! I could only decipher it to be some European structure ;-;

Added eyes to some nose studies I drew the eyes too big for the initial 2 or 3 nose-and-eyes pairs, but oh well, it's in pen so I can't really correct it... ;-;
Also tried to draw a portrait in charcoal pencil, after learning all the parts of the face for term 2!
I think all that's left for me in term 2 is to practice drawing some faces some more and finishing my 3 pt perspective; I'm getting excited about progressing some more!
I love how you handle these features, they look fantastic in charcoal! Keep it up!
A 3 point perspective study! I referenced the Neuschwanstein castle from Germany, but experimented with colors, composition, and tried add a dash of storytelling in this piece. I'm not entirely satisfied with my result, but I already spent too many hours on this ;-; (12 hrs) my brain feels like an old potato x - x
I'm planning to do more (definitely shorter) perspective studies for the rest of this and next week!

I've had some basic traditional art training from about 5th to 10th grade. We sketched a lot from reference, using pencil, charcoal, and watercolor. I sketched and painted here and there for a few years afterwards. If strictly speaking about digital art, I only started doing it seriously since December 2021, I think? I'm guessing that the training I had helped the transition to be easier
Very impressive, The perspective looks correct overall and I really like the colors. The only thing I am able to critique is that the carriage, horse and character are not quite in perspective. Their vertical lines would follow the same vanishing point as the castle, but they instead are perfectly aligned with the picture frame.
On a second read, the trees on the right are quite similar in value and color of the background, making them hard to read.
