Just started term one of art school a few days ago. Quite excited to be part of this community!
I have always been very inspired by the painterly style, in part because I tend to over-render my work. This piece is my first attempt at trying out the style, remembering to not zoom in too much (I need to try harder to not zoom in at the face part) and just generally being looser with my strokes.

This freaking rocks! Can't wait to see more of your stuff! :D!!

Thank you!! Let's both grow better together =D

I was really bothered by my inaccuracy while drawing on my desktop vs drawing traditionally for a really long while, then I discovered that I didn't map my tablet correctly... hemorrhages

I then attempted a quick (is an hour considered quick?) portrait drawing on CSP with a nifty side pencil I downloaded somewhere. There's quite a learning curve with shading evenly. All in all paper is still the best medium for these things, but there's a sense of satisfaction with being able to do it on my desktop too.

Here's the reference.
