@snakker I realise what you mean now about how my construction is wrong. In theory if my construction is right then everything should be in the right place regardless of the details.
Which means the mistakes I am dealing with are simply because my construction is incorrect and I dont notice it, then I have to overcorrect during the line art
Its more like knowing where things go rather than guessing.

I am doing something like this very basic details to notice the construction mistakes
really trying to focus on that
Done with mouse cuz my tablet is problematic

When I fix the issues with my drawing tablet I can check my mistakes easily by putting it on the reference, right now I am just trying to see my mistakes

just working on the construction its clear how much my proportions are wrong.
I just need to remember to fix my mistakes.

I have been working on my construction and proportions so I have been doing this the past few days

Once I get my drawing tablet working again I can check for my mistakes properly. For now I am just hoping I can actually spot my mistakes

Finally got my computer working again

This is more of how | intend to study now
Really trying to get my construction and proportion right.
What I did what draw the subject. Put the drawing on the reference to see my mistakes, then use that as a reference for a second attempt.

Since I really wanna focus on conmstruction and proportion, I am unsure
If I should focus on mileage and just doing alot or Critiquing my work and correcting mistakes??

I started to do some silhouette drawing or negatives space drawings. They really show me how bad my proportions are. Which makes me think I need to work on the larger shapes and bigger picture. Beside just silhouette drawing is there anything else I can do to work on proportions Are still lifes a good idea. Any help would be really appreciated

A very quick still life just trying to focus on proportions

I think this will be a good exercise for my observation skills and to help with my bad proportions

2 minute poses gesture drawing

A 5 minute portrait, I was seeing if its a good idea to set time limit on portraits

4.3.25
2 minutes gesture trying out different approaches

After the first few I just drew the line of action and tried a gestural silhouette

Some portraits done on around 1 minute each, really just trying to get proportions not worried about any details

Trying to get a 2 value painterly look

5/3/25
gesture 2 minutes drew line of action, circles for head pelvis ribcage, then focused on silhouette

Portraits took a different approach I drew the silhouette then added guidelines on top
I feel the silhouette helps me with proportions. So the construction was done after the silhouette.
Very random and rushed perpsective practice, Trying to find the right reference.looking for that more 1st person look
