Focusing on proportions, sketch does not look right.

Interesting study. Just intrigued - what are you trying to get from the sketch, proportion-wise? Trying to be as accuate as to the ref? If so, wouldn't it be easier to break it into simpler basic shape before going into detail (unless you already done with layers that wasn't shown then all g)

@Gordon003 I had quite a few simpler layers not shown. I was just struggling with this study that is why it looks very basic.

I am done with this study, I feel like I am not making progress with it.
I think its a good idea for me to focus on portraits for now. Drawing the figure just felt like an overwhelming amount to draw. I also picked quite a hard reference.

It's always good to study master artist too helps you learn their methods and how they make the art and you can apply them on your own art as a bonus
