I decided to drop this on a separate thread from my Art Journey as not to muddy it up looking back. As per your request @marc, here is some of my past comic work.

This one was part of a commission for a Save the Date in 2015. This started out as a hand drawn image and ultimately brought over into PS. I went about it the wrong way by selecting and deleting the white areas before coloring underneath. Unfortunately, I did not have a tablet at the time so everything was done by mouse including deleting all individual pixels that the wand didn't pick up.

This next one is far more recent. I did this one as a gift for my wife to celebrate our anniversary this past May. Compared to the last one five years prior, I now have a tablet and have learned some techniques on PS that make my life a whole lot easier. This one is also pre-drawn and scanned in. I only recently have felt confident enough to start with PS.

As cute and thoughtful as these are this is not exactly the direction I want to go in regards to content. The stories I have been writing are grittier and violent. Think Garth Ennis' "The Boys" (comic not show) but without the overt sexual content.

I haven't drawn any over full comics due to all my focus on teaching myself how to write effectively. This is not a simple task due to writing not being a strong suit in my formal education.

That is great work Scott! You combine both writing and illustrating, which to me is very useful. I did get the vibe of the comic "Looking for Group" from your first submission.
Now if you're looking to change style... I've been struggling with this myself. I guess my next step would be to try and mimic the art style from the professionals I like and try to incorporate some elements into my own work. Looking forward to see where you'll go with this.
