Another piece I'm working on right now, I've put the other on hold for now as I need this new one for something.

Been a while but I'm definitely still alive.

Finished off this piece and I'm back to working on the other piece I posted.

At the moment I'm trying to learn how digital painting works and what techniques are used. So far I've managed to figure out how to create alpha masks (I think that's what they're called) so I can define colored areas without fear of going outside the character's silhouette.

Well its been what, a month? Still, I'm here and drawing. My studies have paid off (despite only doing a few) & my 50% pieces are looking much better (after scrapping the first attempt.

Here is one I'm currently working on at home

And another that I'm working on whilst out and about on my tablet phone.

I'm not too worried about getting things right, as I generally notice any mistakes and create new exercises/worksheets for myself to shore up any weaknesses I have.

Update on the tablet piece I work on while out & about.

I'm just about reaching my limit on what I can comfortably draw from imagination, lighting & color are the next big wall for me.

3 months later...

Well, I am in fact still alive and haven't forgotten about this place nor my artistic goals.
The only thing that's changed is the amount of time I have

So while I'm here I'll share what I've managed to get down in the limited time that I've had.

These were my first few attempts at drawing anthro dragon heads. Bit of experimenting and a bit of learning. On a whim I decided to render a single eye.

More experimenting, trying to put together how to draw a head using basic shapes. After I had something I liked, I developed it further.

And something I had never really done before: Color. Again I had experimented a couple times with some techniques until I figured out something that worked.

To sum it up, I'm confident enough in my ability to wield a pen that I can effectively learn any art topic given enough time. I suppose the most important skill any artist can learn nowadays is just the ability to hold a pen and draw stuff with it.

Until next time
