Hey people! I'm Stuart and I hope to use this blog to keep myself motivated for when art slumps arrive and to keep posting my failures and successes. I'm excited to see all of the awesome work and people on these forums!

Some gestures for Marc classes. Most of the reference photos were from sports like volleyball, tennis and basketball. I totally fell in love with the poses from those sports! I'm not really sure how well the triangles that I use a lot translate into a nice flowing gesture. I'll have to experiment!

Here are some more that use less triangles and more curves. Can't really decide on what works better at the moment. Better reflect on them later on!

Welcome Stuart! Nice gestures, can't wait to see more.

My only advice right now would be to try and reduce the number of strokes you use to get a line down. Especially with gestures, its great practice for line flow and effeciency. Ghost (make the motion without touch the paper) the line out a few times before committing, the more you do this the smother the whole process will be, and you'll actually get faster.

For good examples you can look at Ryan Woodward's gestures, or Henry Yan.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I’ll have a look at the artists you mentioned before I do my daily gestures for today!

Excellent I like it! Do you use a tablet or is it a pencil sketch?

Thank you so much for the encouragement! I can’t remember exactly which one but I’m using one of the huion monitor tablets ☺️
