Worked on different face parts like lips and eyes today.
Also more gesture/figure drawing. 2min. I feel like the construction makes the figure more volumetric, but it's still too sketchy. It will improve with time though !

Try to do a full face from imagination. Something feels off a bit but still kinda believable

nice work mate. A few things I notice that may help - adding drop shadows based on the direction of light you went with - especially under the jaw, in the ear, under the nose, pushing the darks lower at the edges of the mouth, near the figure's left eye, in the ear and increasing the projection of the tip of the nose. Perpsective wise/construction wise, I think given the angle of the nose and sizes of the jaw/brows, the angle would mean more of the figure's right eye would be covered by the nose, and there would be a bit of overlap at the lips area

The eyes was my biggest issue on this drawing. I didn't want to spend too much time trying to fix it too.
But ! with today's study I have a new found knowledge and understanding.

So I followed your feedback and I am baffled by the difference it makes. I clearly know I don't have the experience to spot this kind of errors. Thank you again so much for this feedback !

I see it can still be improved but it's best that I try a new one next time and see if I fall in the same mistakes !

Today's face study, it took me around 2h to make so I didn't wanted to let my perfectionism won and let it as it is without spending to much time in the details. First the big then the small, and I think my big is quite good for now !

Finally getting the guts to do the draw 5 faces from imagination. I surprised myself how I was able to let loose and started to deform the basics proportions to have a more stylize face. I am not able to imagine a face and reproduce it from imagination but I am able to make a face (even if I don't know what they will look like in the end)

They are not really pretty faces but they are faces! and believable faces at that ! I was never able to do faces with confidence before. I am sure if I keep practicing it will become easier and I will be less scared to create new ones and experiment more.

I added a rudimentary neck but I did not study it yet, so good enough for now !

Cool, I'd suggest adding a touch of asymmetry as super symmetrical faces can be a bit uncanny. Unless that's what you are going for!

Just had time for 1min gesture drawing today. But I feel like they are getting better, more weight and more movement than before. I like the direction it is taking

New portrait from imagination
It's better than the last one, tried to not fall in the same mistakes as before. I feel like the perspective is still off but overall a net improvement from the last one I think.

The line art took me around 15/20min and the shading around 1h so faster that the last one too !
Personal feedback, I am missing a bit of the mouth ball I think, the ear feels too close to the skull, I could add a bit more perspective to it. And his right eye is not right, it feels too flat. That is all I can see for now

No motivation day, just some gesture drawing to keep the streak going !
Learning art is a marathon, not a sprint. It's best to take it slow and dodge burn out. It's normal to feel guilty, but I rather feel guilty for a short time than disgusted and demotivated in the future.

Spent the day making a 2D sprite and animated it. It was fun. Meanwhile, 1min gesture drawing !
I tried to focus more on the hips inclinaison, but I am not a 100% sure on how it should be represented
