Character design putting in practice Term 4 light and color
Hello, as an exercise and to try something different, I decided to design two characters and apply all what I have learned so far + the last class of light and color. Here is all the process:
The story of The demons of the ruined city, is about two siblings, 14 the elder brother and 13 the younger sister, that are mutants with red eyes and strange powers, reason why they are called demons, and as a strategy of intimidation in this post apocalyptic world, they wear masks and horns to feed the legend.
First I learned Teenager's proportions, I Looked at some drawing references from Google using heads as measure
Then I picked up some references of concept and applied them to the Characters, I took this idea from a Youtuber call Jazza from a video "We made the most CURSED Character Style-Swaps"
Then I decide to draw the characters in a Dynamic pose, to get used of the deign features and proportions
And...the final composition, even if I tried to create a composition, it was too hard for me to integrate the two characters, so I used these mannequins as a reference
And with that, the final composition, I tried to make them really different by using the body language the older brother serious, focused like a protector of his sibling, and the Young sister more savage and confident.

I worked on the volumes and forms, and improve the light and shadows (Normal Layer)

And the details, then I applied a layer with hue and opacity correction, then with a hard light layer I added color to the light
This was a really hard challenge, I have never worked with two characters in a scene, I rarely used proportions of teenagers and I change from Photoshop a tool I have been using more than then years, from school in fact, to Clip Studio Paint a tool I never used until this artwork
