Good morning, I am Torben and I am new to the forums.
I want to share some of my art and my thoughts here to improve by your critics and comments.
on my homepage, my Artstation portfolio and on my Instagram account you can see my artworks so far. If you are interested in what kind of work I did in a daily base you can check out The Scope, this is the studio where I worked before I decided to go freelancing.
Maybe I should introduce myself first. I worked the last 5 years in a studio that produces high quality images for the advertising world. Mostly for car clients. I was one of the 3D operators there. The problem was that I wasnt interested in cars at all, but I loved 3D (and still do). I learned a ton about 3D and it was a good time. But after a couple of years my old love grew bigger and bigger- the illustration. I studied Illustration and media design before I was employed at the studio. I always created something during my spare time. The outcome can be seen on my homepage. Thing is, I always dreamed about being a good painter, but when 3D came into my life, something changed. I still want to create illustrations, but I want to use my 3D skills for that. But I still want to feel it less 3D-ish and more 2D-ish. So I often take my 3D renders and paint them over to get rid of the clean 3D look that comes with them.
For my freelance jobs I stay in the world of 3D for advertinsing, but the big goal is to change over to illustration and to be noticed as an artist. So I am swimming between 2,5 and 3D and I am not quite sure where the journey leads me. I am interested in so many fields and so many artstyles that sometimes I feel lost in artworld.
I hope with this blog here and your thoughts that you share about my art and art in general, my vision will be clearer over the time. So lets get started.
First entry will be a horse. I modeled it in ZBrush and painted it over in PS. Let me hear what you think about it.
