Nice work!
For angel I like wings and halo on 2 and overall vibe of 1
Second character looks interesting. I like staff shape. I like 2 most but that's just me loving long coats. 3 has wanderer feel to it with cloak worn this way while the others look more I don't know elegant.

As for the angel, I like the 2nd one. The warrior and mage, I like the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th ones. Mainly for the cloak and cape. Nice work on the gesture drawings.

Thanks I was leaning into 3 too but i really do like the classic long coat look as for the angel I also like the 1st one ill add the wings onto him

Yea I was thinking about adding more armor to the angel I think I'll try to mix on the mage.

as for the next few drawings I've been playing Honkai Star Rail so I took a break first couple of drawings are not so good haha but I really do like the anatomy study

Haha, fine sketches, the last one turned out particularly well. Still impressed at just working on physical, it's been so long I probably can't even do a basic sketch on paper.

The anatomy looks pretty good so far. Mainly the first, third, and fourth ones.

haha thanks something just feels right about it to me

thanks

So IDK if anyone else did this but I kinda skipped the rest of term 3 because I feel like I had no connection to Zbrush. I really dont specialize in 3d work and sculpting so I decided to move to term 4 where the rest of the anatomy lessons where. Let me know if you guys did the same or if I should go back and do them.

anyway here are the notes I took for the first lessons on the arm and hands (the forearm is a pain in the ass to remember ima have to go back to the video so I make sure I know where the muscles go)

Yep, I did as well, as I have no plans to expand or continue work on 3D either, and just getting Zbrush was a bit of a hassle. Pretty expensive too. You could use blender, most people seem to switch to that.

Granted, I had previously learned 3D studio and Maya, so I was familiar with working with 3D space, and even if you don't dedicate your career to it, I have to say becoming familiar with a 3D tool does help improve spatial awareness.

Still, to each their own, we all kinda follow the course in different ways. In that respect, I don't remember if you mentioned it, but are you following the Study companion? if not, I would recommend to try it out, as it expands on the course significantly, and though there is some repetition, I've noticed it has helped me improve considerably than if I had only followed the course videos and basic exercices.

I would also recommend taking a peak at how some others have tackled some of these exercices and references, some have done some truly impressive work, and seeing how others do it also helps take tips from them for your own work.

Exercices look good so far, anatomy is quite a challenge, but also a lot of fun.

I did some of the Z brushwork with the 30-day free trial. Just enough for the Goblin sculpting and maybe the human pose as well. You can use Blender for the modeling or some other software.
I see the palms of the hands are wide and the fingers are small. I think you should shorten the palms and lengthen the fingers. Nice work on the arms.

@daceronine
Yea I do look at it and follow it lightly I should follow it more but I don't I did follow it pretty close when doing the anatomy stuff and why I asked if the z brush stuff was important . I'll prob go back and try it out one day haha

@Gordon003
Just the big bone groups like the ribs and pelvis and stuff I don't think I need to know exactly what every bone is.

@gregorya

The hand part was really just more of mental notes when drawing the hand I didn't have time to go back and erase to make changes I'll apply it better in my future drawings

This is a WIP applying the anatomy stuff i learned

Those tweaks really helped! I see you also added some highlights for the light effect.

Something else that has really helped me with poses, gesture and anatomy, like, a lot, is to use my camera (I have a simple desktop camera), set it to 10 seconds, pose myself in the exact pose I'm looking for, then crop it use it as a reference to draw the basic gesture, and exagerate features as needed. Sometimes if I have props or a towel I'll pose it as well to get reference for basic form construction.

same lol i figured well if i wanted to learn it down the road, i can just go back n watch it later

haha I wish i could use myself but in quite a big guy so I really don't have the form to take inspiration from myself I do search pinterest endlessly for reference photos so if i were to use myself as a reference I would have to take away from myself haha

Yup I mean I've taken sculpting class in real life at school so maybe 3d will come back in the future.

More anatomy tweaks fixes and adjustment. IDK how to really draw magic so this is an attempt (also the reason why the canvas is so wide is because I actually drew this on my pose practice doc so if I cropped it down it would cut off all my other work.)

Nice work! Though those swirly magics had a certain charm to them. Sparkly effect look pretty cool! I see you also trimmed your lineart for this one.
