Ah I see, I think the angle, pose and how it flexes also affects how it gets positioned. To be fair most photo references show it bulging above the Vastus.

On this photo for example, it seems to be at different heights on the left and right leg.

I think what is clear at least is how both Vastus are the highlight of the upper front.

An important thing to keep in mind is that what we're learning here is just the general proportions and anatomy of a human being. In reality, the origins and the insertions of a muscle will pretty much stay the same, but the size and length of the belly of a muscle will differ depending on genetics. So some people might have shorter ones, some may have longer ones. You may have heard how some people are genetically gifted for bodybuilding or something along those lines. That would be the reason why.

That makes sense everyone is built different as long as it follows the guide of the muscle placements there is always room for a bit of variety.

Honkai Star Rail? I hear a lot about it. No time to play much these days. Their production values are top notch though.
What do you use to ink? Doesn't look like a ball pen.

I don't think it's what they're using, but because you brought up the topic of inking.. have you tried used brush pens? They're super fun to sketch with or do the inking with on a sketch.

@daceronine I started Day 1 so I've had over a year to play it haha but I dont think its that heavy of a time investments you honestly could play it like any other turned based rpg. I would advise you if you are not good at not spending I wouldn't recommend it you can be pretty tempted to pull for wifus of husbandos haha

@leeireo I used Pigma Micron pens for this I actually bought them a long time ago when I took art in college for a year so this is my first time breaking them out in over 5 years so i was really rusty with them. I have seen those ink brush pens before tho I do kinda want to get one since I've been drawing for a while now I used to paint pack in the day but the materials and canvases costed too much so it would be kinda fun to ink something in with a brush and also have the option to paint with it. I do have some samples of really old painting i did back in highschool.

You should definitely give refillable brush pens a try! I feel like it's a lot more fun to ink with those than with just a regular fine tip pen. And great job on the painting!

I actually bought some off amazon today i got the cheaper ones to test how I like them first I also got some fountain pens too because I remember liking the feel of those

Nice sketches! I see you got your inking pens too! Seeing stuff like this makes me want to try to do more physical stuff. Maybe whenever I get some free time.

The last one on the bottom left seems like might need a few adjustments on the back though. (Check the connection of deltoids under the traps and location and attachpoints of Teres)

Ahhh ok I guess that make more sense I guess that factors into the connection into the arms too i guess?

Correct! the Teres and Deltoids assist with the arms movements (check the attachment to the bone

The Trapas kinda give you that upper back strenght. Helping pull all those limbs and bones together.
