Also @snakker, you should check it out Angel Ganev's resources about portrait drawing. He specifically teaches to use the Reilly Method when drawing portraits, which I use presently. Though right now, I use a mix of Loomis and Reilly. Like when I initially start a portrait I use the Loomis method then transition to Reilly method when I'm plotting the planes of the face. Also thank you for the feedback, I'll keep those in mind

First of all, nice facial construction and drawing. Can't complain much about it

Secondly, is there a reason you pick O'Reilly methods to do your facial construction? Have you tried Loomis method or just a experiment around to see which methods you prefer? Much ike snakker, I'm quite intrigured about O'Reilly methods due to its emphasis on finding the flow which my cartoon work is based on.

Heyy, I'll post my process here when I have free time. And to answer your question. I use a mix both. I prefer using the Loomis Method on the initial stage where we make the circle and determine the angle of the head, and of course plotting of the features like where the nose goes and where the chin is. Then after that I transition to Reilly to determine the planes of the faces. This is useful in shading and painting the face, and helps a lot too to determine the correct proportion of the face and its features.

It'll all make sense once I show my process, but hopefully my explanation alone makes it clear

That makes perfectly clear, thx. Nice to see that you use a mixture of method to suit the best for yourself rather than just rely on 1 method. For me, Loomis method makes more sense technical wise (bc I'm a software engineer lol).
