My second 10 head studies. I didn't use any grid, which I did use the first time (March 30). This round when I started sketching on an empty canvas, I tried to just focus on important shapes and lines and how they related to each other (for example, the line of the chin, the space between that line and the mouth, all the negative space, etc.)
Now it felt more like studies, in stead of just copying something into a grid. As a total controlfreak this was terrifying and frustrating haha, yet a good practice. For the same reason to keep my perfectionism to a minimum, I used unknown models in stead of known actors and singers. This way it's less "disturbing" if the drawing deviates from the photo.
