Hello guys !
It's a shame cause I couldn't find the time to accomplish my piece.
But if you allow me, I will introduice you my idea for this week theme.
First when I saw the theme, I immediately think about the song "Roxanne" by The Police.
For the story,
" Roxanne was written from the point of view of a man who falls in love with a prostitute. Police lead singer Sting wrote the song, inspired by the prostitutes he saw near the band's seedy hotel in Paris, France, where the Police were lodged in October 1977 to perform at the Nashville Club. The song's title comes from the name of the character in the play Cyrano de Bergerac, an old poster of which was hanging in the hotel foyer. "
From this point, I thought about Amsterdam prostitutes which use to show themselves behind a glass door using lods of red neons. This idea fits perfectly with the song and the actual theme at the same time.
Finaly, I started from the famous lyrics "You don't have to put on the red light...".
Even though most people think it is an easy money making job, I personally think that it is psychologically not that easy to achieve.. and a lot's of woman do that job as last resort, because they have to feed there child, their family.
So throught my piece I wanted to try to communicate that unconfortable feeling.
Like I said it's a WIP version of my work. I hope at least you'll appreciate the story.
Sorry for long post .
Sorry for my English .
PS : It could be a good thing, having a section in the forum, for peaple like me, who have not finished their piece and who would like to finish it after the challenge. if it not already exist.
Thank all !
