Hey everyone, I had this idea for the weekly challenge and I know its not so good, but I think its getting there. I really cant paint to save my life but I'm trying anyway. Any advice or criticism is very welcome, so many of you on here are so talented I would really like to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

I like it, the B17s are instantly recognisable. If it were mine, I'd probably up the contrast slightly and darken the image quite a lot to get a more 'warlike' feel. It's also definitely worth doing :something: with the ground, right now it's hard to tell if its mountains or sea and TBH the viewer perspective relative to the plane would probably make the ground off-camera. Maybe losing the ground and adding searchlights & tracers against an evening sky or something would tell a better story? Looking forwards to the finished pic!

About this piece: the biggest point of improvement would be to make the left bottom corner much less dark - it's odd that it's so invisible compared to the rest of the piece.
Secondly, try to use less fine/scribbly lines for your objects. You can set them up fatter and straighter (more vector like) and always paint over. The biggest problem with this is that the airplane isn't correct/straight or correct in perspective.
Try to first draw the line art until it is good and correct, before colouring anything.

Thank you! I will definitely work on my lines, as well as the perspective and lighting. I think I just get ahead of myself and start with the color before it is anywhere near ready. Thanks for taking the time to respond!

I cleaned up the lines a bit, made some better and some worse :sob: and made it a bit brighter. I think I will stick with this one, not that it is perfect or anything but I'm fairly ok with it. I know it could use a lot more work but hey, its better than it was! Thank you all again for the help!

I went back and looked at several reference images and I think after all the helpful advice I am going to start over. I really appreciate all the help and I will post a new one when I finish! Thanks!
