Here is another update with these characters and a couple more. I'm looking to have all 7 of these characters 100% finished by the end of this month. I just have to put in more time really refining all of the renderings. ^__^

I'm calling this dude done, its been quite the journey with him

Edit: (Forgot to add this little story tidbit)

Renaldo, once a brave knight, found despair when he came across the
Undying Mask. Once equipped the wearer can never truly die, upon death
the wearer's face is solidified into the lower rung of the mask. That
new addition pushes all previous layers upwards where they are eroded
and forgotten to time, and the wearer's soul is ripped back from that
ephemeral plane to fight on another day. The only way for Renaldo to
have peace is for some other brave warrior to relieve him of that cursed
mask or perhaps someone with enough strength could destroy it. In the
mean time Renaldo is found mindlessly wandering the lands he once
protected.

I think I've gotten to a point where I am happy with the render of this character. Time to move onto her orthographics ^__^

Needed to take a break from just rendering so I studied Darren Bartley's drawing style and drew some noodly armed robots

@cedricgo Thanks a bunch, they really do have a friendly looks about them don't they ^__^

@kigerneko Thanks! I'm definitely planning on doing more little sketches in this style for sure. As for my process I just loosely sketched them out with a large brush to establish the bigger shapes and forms, then on a new layer went back over the roughs with a smaller brush to push their details and forms. Under that layer I did a layer of simple colors, after the colors on a layer on top of the whole stack I lightly added in shadow information with a Darken layer set to 50%.

So the layers look like this from top to bottom: 1) Shadows, 2) Lines, 3) Colors, 4) Rough Sketches, 5) Background elements (Horizon line and ground shadow), and 6) Background Colors

After I do another batch of little character sketches I'll post up a gif or something to better illustrate my drawing process for everyone ^__^
