OMGGG I CANTTT 1 THESE ARE SO GOOD 2ND TNX FOR DOING THAT SKETCH FOR ME TOT Btw do you mostly sketch or you try to do full pieces as well?
@castonia Haha no problem. And I cant paint or render well at all yet so it kind of deters me from trying . It's a lot more frustrating >.<
Dw, take baby steps, start doing it when you feel ready! But don't be too scared either, just have fun ^O^
Thank you for the encouragement!!!
Have you thought of just adding simple shading to your drawings, like just adding a basic flat gray tone to indicate the shadows. It might be a good way to get you started if that's something you'd like to eventually get into.
Really love your sketches! They feel very airy if that makes sense?
@cedricgo I'll have to give it a go in my next stuff @lozzzliss Thank you!!
Slow day zzz
Used Posterise option in photoshop to limit the number of values I could use to 4 for this.It was easier for me to focus on forms and less about details with this method.
I think you should continue doing some pieces like this with limited value ranges. I would recommend getting rid of the black square because it brings my attention to the shirt and not the face which should be the focal point. There isn't much going on with the shirt so no need to bring attention to it. Besides that, this looks good. I like the shapes and breakups in the piece. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for the advice! You're right the black really makes the shirt pop, I think I put it there to remove the face from the background but it obviously doesn't really do that LOL.
My attempts at some ambient lighting/occlusion.I tried to replicate an image with direct sunlight and one with an overcast feel. Not sure if I like them but practice makes perfect
Ok I couldn't help trying again at one of these and I think this is a lot better.
Tryinggggggggg

This is probably as far as I'm going to take this. I'm pretty happy with this piece, it's shown me that i'm still pretty timid and uncertain when selecting colours but it was still fun!
God bless Bob Ross for the soothing videos.
