Work on your edges, the portrait is pretty messy, eyes are balls and the skin is put on top of them. Find yourself a sculpt or picture that shows planes of face. Try also imagining everything as geometrical shapes (same as for eyes) that should help. Also if u cant find any ref for planes of face look in forum i've seen somone posting one.

i'll look into it, thanks

I changed to Charcoal, i know is still messy 'cause i need to get use to them and i didn't have a lot of time to study so there's not a noticeable progress.

Planes do wonderful things. Also after some time i started to get out of my comfort zone towards a more realistic face. Still need to work a lot more on the features tho.

So 2 things that I'd like to say about portraits. Try to study at least a bit with each portrait because u wont improvee. Day 3rd looks way better but still I'd say work on your edges. Chin is little bit too much on right side, try to center it. Nice way to get everything right on face is draw a cross on it in early stage. Horizontal line shows uper part of your eye socket bones and vertical show you symetry in face . Althou u i used it for proportions mostly u have them right here so vertical line might help ya with getting cleaner shape of face. Good work keep it up

Hullo, i think this time i just got better at blending more than anything else, thanks for the critique, i tried using a ruler this time

Nice improvement. Mind to share a reference photo?

Seems like my photo wasnt uploaded so i will post it one more time. Here

. So back to critque. Using ruler if u cant draw straight lines is a good idea, althou I'd suggest practicing those anyway, because this will allow you to get faster later. However blending seems nice, some spots not always needs to be blended or at leasr not that much. The noseseems little bit too much blende. We should be able to tell where the top of the nose is. Look up to the day 3rd and to the planes one more time. You should be able to fix this quite easily. Also look up for some ears because they are in mess. After this i'd suggest changing technique from charcoal to pencil or digital if u are able to. Charcoal is nice in the beginnig but now after this huge progress u made it will be time to focus little bit on details. Remember thou aproach it it same way as charcoal from general stuff to detail. It is very important cuz u might lose youself somwhere in the process. Good work and good luck with next day

Hey and thanks for the suggestion, i think i will follow it 'cause i draw one think and paint another but i was a bit hesitant to change

Cool, good job fixing nose. Work a bit more on ears thou, take some reference and study their shape. Now try to unify your lines and change them to nice confident strokes and used them just for outlines to get the idea for shapes. Don't shade with lines. Here is the example I drew for ya

it's kind of difficult not to shade with lines when you're using a pencil, just saying XD

It is not xD, jut try a diffrent grip, try this way

but u've made huge progress  the left eye shadows seems a bit off, it doesnt look like ball. I feel like u need to refine it a bit work a bit on your values and you're there

10 days later

Hello  i couldn't keep up with the challenge after i started school, i still keep practicing tho and will post my progress from time to time. Thanks for helping me!
