Week 1 of Term 2 is behind me. I won't hide it, it was quite a lazy week. Since I skipped the graphic design tasks, my product of the week is my self-portrait. Feedback is welcome. Does it generally resemble a human? :)

I'm back after a longer break. I've decided that I'll share my daily progress after all; maybe it will motivate me to act a bit more (lately it's been tough). So, Term 2, Week 2, Day 1.

Alright, starting Week 3. I finally got to work on facial features — today’s focus: ears. Riding the wave from yesterday’s portrait of my OC, I also drew another character from my manga. The style is a bit different, and he doesn’t have a hairstyle yet (partly because I haven’t decided on one, and partly because I’m terrible at drawing hair :P).

I also started getting a bit more into shading. On the other hand, I’m quite disappointed with my gesture drawing… it’s strange how the more time I spend on it, the worse it turns out 🙁 I’ll have to try some other methods.

Linework: Your hatching is accurate and expressive - nice!
Shading: The blending/gradient is a good base. Did you draw each of the forms separately and then composite them? I'm assuming there's five different objects with different light sources. Combining them together feels confused though.
Gesture: I think you are in a good place. Your general proportions are solid. Once you go through the upper body anatomy sections of Term 3 & 4, you will start nailing these completely. Don't give yourself too hard of a time, you are doing well.
