Hello! Thanks for the paintover. Now I see what seemed so weird about her!

I do indeed sketch out before going with details. Though one of my priorities are always to overexaggerate and alter what seems weird after.

Nice! I see you've improved on the face!
I keep giving crits and doing paintovers, I hope you don't mind :stuck_out_tongue:
So, why still those wide open (insane) eyes? Unless you prefer it this way. But here are my suggestions:

I would not use so many scribbly lines in her eye corner, it makes her face less feminine/soft. Lastly, the pupil is kind of interesting like this but doesn't make sense :>

Keep it up!

Hey, Enalya!

I am making many sketches in my spare time trying to learn how to create faces, and it is very helpful that you're giving feedback on the ones that I do post!

It is nice to see that I have fewer anatomical mistakes than last time! And I agree with you about the pupil, it also makes it harder to stare into her eyes, and I would rather look away because of it. Regardless, it is nice to try out, and I somehow want it to work, so I'll keep experimenting!

As for the scribbly lines, I very much agree. This is far worse earlier in the process, and it is just me mapping out the shapes and trying to make sense out of them! My way of learning, I guess. :smile: As for making her less feminine, I guess there is truth to that. But, I think it is sort about keeping a balance between realistic and stylized, as I could easily erase them and only have the outlines for the eyes, nose and mouth. I guess I am trying to find a balance still!

Thank you for helping out again, this is very much useful.

Thank you for really taking the time to think about my feedback. I think you're doing a great job at improving and finding a balance! And don't be too hard on yourself, one step at a time!
Merry xmas :smile:

Hi! I like your last sketches they are full of character, However I agree with Enalya in the proportions corrections that she post earlier. Here's what I meant by studying Hampton, He has a book on anomy and I found it super helpful! I know that it may look very traditional or "academy-ish" but I think that learning the rules first so you can bend them later is the way to go. :smiley:

Hope this makes sense, Happy Holy days!

Hi fellow Norwegian! :blush: I just wanted to say thanks for saying welcome in my art blog! I'm so exited to be here :smiley: Keep posting!

Nice work in here!

I think your painting is progressing faster than your drawing. I think mixing in a few studies will really help!

Also, I love your 3D! Now I want to do some haha!

Hey @big-misch!

Drawing is very important, it is the structure and the very core of paintings, I realized this a few years ago when I had gotten a tablet way too early. Since then, I've spent far more time drawing than painting, and when I do occasionally paint, it is for fun and to see how much I've developed!

As for mixing in a few studies, what exactly do you mean? I would've thought that this is it? :smile:

Also, thanks for your compliment! 3D is really fun and it'll only be more needed in the industry as time goes forward, so it wouldn't hurt to play around with it! :smile:

Nice rendering to look at! Such soft brush strokes :smile: Photoshop or Sai?
One thing really distracts me: her ears are way too high up, I'd expect her ear lobe to be in line with her nose tip.

This looks super awesome, although the left side of the face seems a little larger than it should be. But apart from that I love the colors and can't wait to see how this piece develops further. :smile:

@enalya

Thank you! All of it was photoshop, airbrush tool can do wonders! :smile:
Interesting, I didn't notice this myself! Thanks for pointing it out :smile: I might edit the post and correct it later!

@PandaBrush
Thank you for the compliment! Now that you're saying it, it does look too large! Really appreciate you pointing it out, this is really helpful :smile: I don't think I'm going to develop it into a piece, it was meant to be a one day thing!

Looks like you hade super fun making this :smile: Have you studied perspective? I think some more understanding of that wold help you alot. Keep going!

Improvements! :smile: I'd say make the eye corners/shadows a bit redder, it's never really black/grey there. I also think the left eye iris has a too oval shape.
Keep going, I'm curious about more rendering, the hair for example!

I looked back and saw you do have one post with torso studies. Those were great! I guess I was just saying do more! :smiley:

Oh, I see! I'm trying to learn a specific thing atm however, that is the fastest way to get to where I want. No need for torsos atm!

Just studies in general, from reference is what I meant. So if you want to do faces, do faces! Whatever it is you want to improve on!

Cool stuff! Nice to see the portraits,I'm doing that too but they're hard haha :sweat_smile: Really nive models too!
