Second attempt, marginally better, went with using masks more this time around too. Could easily get more fixated on this but want to move ahead quicker so I can get to figure drawing before the end of the month lol
And I just realised the issue with the lines would have been from the original cutting the apples from the black background with the selection ever so slightly feathered leaving that outline!

Hello! Been a bit of while, I am still here, but I'm having to take on some extra responsibilities at my day job at them moment, which frustratingly has been cutting into my free time, but its only for another month or two at most. But I'm back here now! and I've finished the last two exercises in the Photoshop for Digital Production at last! See below
I haven't used photoshop for photo editing outside of photobashing for a project a few years back so I was quite rusty but am looking forward to the next project, which I believe is Visual Communication?
Very nice photo manipulation, and hope you get some more freetime soon!.
The visual communication doesn't have that much in terms of physically doing stuff, It's more or less just teaching you how the eye works, I don't fully remember, it's been like a month since last I watched it.
The main task you're given is to properly observe any objects in real life for like 5 minutes, and fully take it's information in, what color is it, which shape is it, or what simple shapes could you use to make that object, how does light move around that object, even look at it in different perspectives and such.
Good Luck onwards!.

Hello! Just wanted to say I'm still here!
Work finally seems to have settled down, I also had a nice Christmas break and am looking forward to getting stuck into the New Year, although at time of writing that might seem a little late. But I took the time over the holiday to push myself back into my personal art and managed to start two paintings, where I have tried to apply what I have been learning on the course and outside of it Anyway next update should be some exercises from the Figure Drawing assignment, hooray I finally caught up to where I left off on my first attempt!
Have included the two paintings in the work in progress states for fun and in lieu of actual course work lol
Heya!
Thanks man! Happy to see you're still around too! I did actually when I started the course really consider if I should show my personal work or not, but I was pretty proud of just the fact that I managed to start something, I've had a lot of problems with creating anything for fun for sadly quite a long time now, so I was just happy I managed to do something, might be a bit TMI lol But again thanks!

Okay, wow that didn't go according to plan, I'm still here and updating with line of action practices, I actually had gotten quite far in this assignment, but havn't been updating, but I also got stuck with a perceived lack of progress, it wasn't until last night I saw on the discord that the general advice was not to try and get this perfect, so just going to upload as it is and push forwards!
Although, do you think my lines of actions could stand to be a bit more expressive? I think I'm following the spine too closely
Thought I might do a bit of a generic blog post this morning with general updates on whats going on my end this morning, so I hope that won't dissuade anyone from reading on too much. Seriously though, I just want to talk to the void for a bit, takes me back to my DA journal days. But again, have included some work! also for those who read or scroll to the end I have posted something a bit more fun I've been steadily doodling in the background.
First of all, have some practice to share, I still haven't moved forward with the program, but I have been happily been trying to nail down my volumes and spacial awareness, just working some of that rust out overall!
So big news for me, that is also partially irritating, but overall good. I moved back to my Intous after multiple years with my Cintiq and the differene to my productivty is night and day. I love my cintiq, my god did I slave myself away to afford one back in the day and it works perfectly, the issue was after a couple of years I noticed my art started to look more confined, I addressed this much later with duplicating my canvas on my main monitor, but still the overall layout of my setup was clunky, sadly I had to constantly rearrange my desk and that small inconvience just meant sometimes I would just do something else.
Now why am I telling you this? Because just in case someone stumbles upon my page and is having the same dichotomy of "But I have to use the prestigious and expensive device, I invested so much into it" Its okay, honestly sometimes you can drop a good chunk of cash on something and it just doesn't entirely work out, or in my case the pros didn't outweigh the cons. Will I be getting rid of my Cintiq? No, I use it as dedicated detailing tablet running alongside the intous but if I'm not actually painting anything, it remains powered down. Some of my experience may also be down to the fact I have a 13HD, now that model is almost if not a decade old now, so it is quite dated still functional although I think the propriety cable is starting to go, to moving it about is a pain, seriously I envy the USB C connection of the newer models...they don't even make the cable I use anymore, good luck also trying to find a new one at a sensible price online. I digress, quite frankly I'd say go for larger model the 16inch at least, or at least if I ever decide to upgrade I will be doing that. Screen real estate is important and I severely underestimated how it would negatively impact my art and sometimes the truth or the best thin was what was there all along
So different topic, but I may be starting a second job after today, the interview is this morning I hope I won't be too haggard after my shift lol, not sure how that will effect things here. I'm hoping it won't I've actually got myself in the routine I waking up at around 1-2am to practice (I work very early mornings, so that's not as extreme as it sounds). But in case I go quiet again, that'll be why, as I adapt, I spend most of the daylight hours over the week asleep anyway, well apart from weekends, where I'm usually catching up on housework, gardening, looking after my motorcycle, and my feeding my gunpla addiction or airbrushing my kits.
Anyway, thanks for reading this far if you did, sometimes its just nice to type out your thoughts.
BONUS ROUND! Gunpla project teaser! just finished my initial priming and checking for missed nubs and imperfections all clear for round two! if only it'd stop raining!
