Hello Everyone,

i watched the Youtube-Videos of Marc and i was curious about his art School Programm. So i started with Term 1.
I am interested in Art but never actually Draw or Paint anything. (Besides Miniature Painting)
As a complet Beginner i am excited to see where this Journey will take me.

I try to Practice straight lines and Circles every day. But the lines are always a little shaky.
With the following Picture i try to put on the Line of Action, Head, Rib-Cage, Pelvis, Joints and Arm+Leg Cylinders on a Reference Picture.

and with the next Picture also, but i admit i cheated al little with the Circles and Lines in this one. :grimacing:

Welcome to the forums alexander! I look forward to seeing your progress! The lines will be shaky for a bit, that's normal. Just keep practicing these cylinder constructions and the line exercise and that will improve quickly!

A little practice with drawing from a reference, not really correct with the position of the shoulders and proportions. Plus on "traditional" Paper, exercise for straight lines.

And i tried a little Proportion-Exercise. A lot of Training ahead  ....
I struggle with the right way to find the correct Proportion for Legs an Feets... :expressionless:

hello! welcome to the art forum! great start, keep up the work since it takes time to get used to getting confident lines. so keep practicing cause youre doing great! excited to see your progress!

Nice work Alexander! Keep up with those line and proportion exercises. They will pay off big time. In terms of the shoulders, they can be tricky to place for sure. For now I would personally use a ball as you did for now, or leave them blank for the moment. You could also check out a mannequin video if you want to press further for some construction ideas. This may be jumping ahead a bit but it may give you some ideas. Personally, I wouldn't sweat it much for now. I looked back at my cylinder practice and I had just left them blank.
