So basically Ive been working on perspective for ages and Im working on a few drawings right now, got this one to a line art and block in stage and Im leaving it here. I'm really happy because Ive got to a really good place with perspective and understand how to do everything with it like set up a cone and multiple vps and all the rest of it. Anyway, I just did this over a loose 1pt grid and then freehanded everything so Im like happy with my drawing skills. Im unhappy with my lighting/ rendering skills though. Currently going through How2Render (BUT HAVE NOT REACHED THE VALUES CHAPTER YET) and I can copy photos pretty well but I do sort of realise that for a long time Im just pushing around tones until I understand whats going on and can start refining things. Anyway I did the lighting on this without reference but I recognise its really basic and sucks, if anyone has any suggestions on things I could watch or read that would be great. I dont really want comments on how to "fix" the work because it really wont help me learn at this stage of where Im at with it, Ill probs understand what youre saying but not know how to apply it. anyway comments are welcomed.
