man, perspective is a real stinker, i'm stuck in 3 point perspective right now and man, it really sucks to feel stuck at something, the overall shape of your street corner looks right to my eyes, but looking at the reference it does have a pretty strong distortion towards the top part (3 point perspective shenanigans), probably that's why it feels so hard to replicate it, and those dam windows, after i tried drawing a building i can't stand them no more XD

Interesting, it seems to curve as well so might also be due to the camera lens in addition to the slight upwards angle of the viewpoint (3rd vanishing point)

2/5/2023 - Nude Figure Drawing assignments

Notes:
1. I'm still getting used to the glove and drawing from the elbow/shoulder instead of the wrists. Gestures look off and the feet often run off the page
2. Started Term 2 today, watched Visual Communication 2.
3. Photoshop crashed on me at the end of the skeleton/cylinder exercise and I lost the file. I keep running out of RAM. I think I need more RAM.

Nice 1 month comparison work.

If there's one thing I do recommend, it's to work on your hand control skill and be confident with long strokes. I can see from your gesture and deconstruction drawing that you are drawing very slow by the wobbly lines you drawn.

Be confident with your strokes! Hope that helps!

2/9/2023 - Nude Figure Drawing assignments

Notes:
1. I tried moving the references to a separate monitor for the gesture drawings and the details on the figure. It's harder. (Not a surprise.) Adjusted my document resolution for the gestures accordingly.
2. I tried shading on the final figure, but I don't know how to do it, and it was looking real rough. So I deleted it.

I really like how you portrayed the shadows in the last one. Also the face looks really good. Keep it up!

2/18/2022 - Photoshop 2, Logo/Monster assignments

Notes:
1. Took a week off. Not intentionally. Hopefully back at it. I'd like to figure out art I enjoy doing so it's not just studies.
2. I tried the alien first, but I didn't know where it was going, so it turned out boring. For the robot, I sketched the design first. Turns out, that's helpful!

1. I felt oddly spooked to get back to figure drawing. I think I intimidated myself with my 1-month level-up. "Oh no... it's never gonna look that good again. I'm gonna backslide." Even if it's true, so what?
2. I am excited to start Anatomy 1!
