Let me just start of by saying, Jerrison welcome to cubebrush! I'm going to give you a bit of feedback and some helpful videos that you should really go over a couple times. They'll help you improve extremely fast!
Flow
- When doing gestural work you really want to be aware of the flow of the figure. This being how the figure bends, moves, contorts in any type of way! a great video that helped me on this would be proko's Flow studies series!
A lot of this has to do with starting of very loose and tightening up after everything is set in place. A problem your having in your study is that your too tight, loosen up a little bit, big swooping strokes are great with helping with the flow! if you construct your drawing like a robot then it will be just that! Moving on to your second issue!
Knowledge of Anatomy
- your knowledge of anatomy is very weak, however fear not. in order to become great at something you must be willing to be terrible at it at first. The good thing being you aren't terrible. Your on the path towards becoming decent! The further you aquatint yourself with the human body, weather it's drawing, looking at others art, referencing people in real life, your going to become much better! Your biggest issue in this study is the rib cage, here's an amazing video on that as well!
Last yet not least!
*Shading**
- Now there's no general rule on this however, You just need more practice and adjustments. In your study you shade area's that are key in defining form and make the drawing extremely flat, I'm going to delve deeper into this after I get out of class today however if you have further questions feel free to tag me and ask! I'm here to help and it's always fun to do so!
As Always my friend I wish you the best on your adventures throughout Cubebrush!
Exofley,
Signing out!
