Here's a piece I've worked on for weeks in between work that I'm delighted with!

Basically just Thomas, Percy, and the Dragon but with a live Chinese Dragon!

Perhaps getting a little too intrusive with the poor little green caterpillar...

When it comes to self-critique, I'd say that I like the appealing use of color, lighting effects, and perspective, emphasizing the dragon's size and presence, especially with its intricate detail.

Of course, the shading and some of the details could've been cleaned up a bit better. I was also gonna ass another giant claw reaching down, but the initial sketch of it came out rather rough. I was gonna rework it back in, but I never got around to it, leaving that section of the canvas feeling a little blank.

Really happy with how it turned out though, this was quite a big project and a really fun learning experience!

Hey all, here's a little piece I made to kick off the new year. Tbh, I think I burned myself out with the Percy and the Dragon painting last year. I'll definitely try to be more patient with the learning process this time around.

Alright, so I've decided to change my gesturing method a bit, by taking the time to make a basic gesture of the figure and comparing/adjusting it accordingly. I definitely plan to color code said gestures in the future to make it easier for comparison.

Update: I've integrated color coding into my gestures, (Blue is general shapes, Red is adjustments/detail, and Black is final w/ 3-Value shading) I admit I definitely rushed through the shading on this piece, but I find it quite satisfactory overall. What say you?

Hey all, I've decided to take a hiatus on art to pursue other things in my life that take priority. I'm immensely grateful for all the love, feedback, knowledge, and support everyone here has given me. I'll definitely come back someday when I have my life better situated for pursuing art! Hey all! So after a two-month hiatus to sort some things out, I've decided to jump back on the horse. Decided to go back to basics a bit, and redid the first four assignments.

Started on some nude figure practice today, tracing gesture lines and basic skeletons w/ cylinders on the side

Tried out the liquify tool today, and I don't even know what happened but the results were disastrous
