Really neat piece!
For storytelling:
An important thing to consider with forced perspective (where you are rendering a focal length), is how objects scale in focus as well as size. Here, we see that the arrow head is close and out of focus, but where is the point of focus? If it's the face, then the front hand should be a bit out of focus as well. Conversely, if it's the front hand, then the rear hand should be out of focus, as it's the opposite end of the focal length as the arrow.
Much like lighting and relative size, polishing your sense of focal length in a piece like this will provide a tremendous boost in atmospheric feeling and realism, and really drive the story in terms of what the viewer is taking note of.
