Hello cubebrush!
My name is Poppy, and I am a 2D artist about to graduate with a bachelor's degree. I have decided to join the sea of young fledglings looking to improve and one day make it in the concept art and game art industry.
This blog will be a mishmash of any art I turn out during the day (or night!), from sketches to finished pieces, bad or good. It will act as a sort of timeline, or journey. I hope you find it interesting!
As I stand now, my art could use some serious work. Any critique would be much appreciated. Tear me apart! I want to grow and learn as much as possible.
Here is my most recent complete paintings, it will be a good starting point as any!
My most advanced work right now. The cathedral (my first architecture painting) was a killer, but so far environments have been interesting to start experimenting with. I hope to do more in the future.
Cute deadly bunny idea. This was mostly fur practice, but it was fun playing with lighting a little too.
A cute painting done for my followers on facebook mostly. No real design here, but it's where I'm at rendering wise. I am really trying to improve my human anatomy, the fairy is kind of wonky I think.

Right now I am working on a character concept, you can see two parts here, I shall update as I build each part.
A face study I did a few days ago. I painted the same face twice, and improved slightly. I think it got a little to close to overwatch's sombra... opps. What do you think?
Wing ideas for the same character, she is a dragon/human hybrid. I'm actually curious if these sorts of creatures are ever done. I don't see them often. I am using version 2 for this character.
As you can see, I have been taking on larger, more complicated painting projects. My true passion, however, lies in concepts. That being said, from this point forward I will be doing character, creature, and environment work, and straying from finished illustrations for now.
The purpose of this blog is to ask for help from and be part of a community of awesome artists with experience and skill. I would love to know: where do you think I stand as an artist? What are some things I should improve on? What things am I ok at? Any sort of feedback would be appreciated.
