This is my first serious attempt at drawing a face in a more realistic style. I have a long way to go, and would love feedback on how to improve

I included the photo I used as reference. There are many things that don't match the photo, but I admit to being lazy when it came to analysing the reference.

Hey I looked through all your stuff and great work so far! I'd just like to recommend you spend more time sketching out your portrait studies before worrying about any sort of value. If you look at your earlier practice of the head, ears, nose, lips and eyes you can see that you have a good basic understanding of their construction. I feel like your recent studies however don't reflect that. Slow down and map everything out just like you practiced. Do several pages without even worrying about any sort of value. Once you're more comfortable with it you can start to render them. Hope this helps. Keep it up!

Thanks for the advice! I didn't pick up on my weaker construction, so I'm glad I know where to pour my efforts into next. I will devote more of my efforts to construction :grinning:

Here is a stylised portrait I did using Marc's Anatomy 1 lesson for guidance. The body really isn't very clear so I'll try to get better at constructing a good sketch before I drive into rendering (also the value feels quite off)

I tried following along with Marc's Zbrush demos. I didn't exactly copy everything for some variation
