Hey everyone!

Only saw this competition today, but really keen to give it a go.

Started off with some quick sketches to try get a feel for the character in terms of form. Not 100% sure where i'm going to take it yet, but know I want a strong warrior. Will be working on designs and nailing down the silhouette over the coming days.

Hope everyone else is having fun with this.

Just done some rough 'themes' for my hero. Going to continue doing some more before refining the overall design and moving onto the final illustration.

Nice shoulderguard!
Personally I like 9 and 10, because there's more weight and power to the weapon, although I'd prefer a better view of the shoulderguard. Good luck!

Thanks @aeguilrod, I decided to go for option 9 in the end. Have started work on it and will probably play with the comp a little to try get the shoulderguard in a bit more.

Very nice! Keep at it!

The main thing I notice that could be improved is that with this current state of lighting is her forward leg gets a little lost in the silhouette of the rest of her body and her cape.

I would say keep pushing the rendering, but I'm guessing you knew that, lol.

Hey @michael_howe_arts thanks for pointing that out you're definitely right! Will continue to play with the lighting and rendering as well and try to avoid that in the rest of the painting.
